Will's Dinosaur Birthday

His birthday was in May, but that shouldn't matter. I am going to tell you about it anyway. He had 6 friends over, all boys, and they had a dinosaur party. They dug for dinosaurs in the sandbox, which was a hit. They went on a dinosaur egg hunt, and ate a volcano cake with dinosaurs around. But the best part to me was listening to these 6 year boys talk. The conversation was complete with a chorus of arm farts, and trying to belch the ABC's. Isn't that just priceless. I loved it.

California Trip

We spent most of the month of June in California. It was a great trip, and very busy. Paul and I had a overnight get away from our kids. We went to Donner Lake and stayed in Paul's aunt's lake house. It was wonderful! No more needs to be said.

As soon as we got back to Paul's parents house, we loaded up the kids and we were off to the California Bluegrass Festival. Diane, Bentley, and Grandpa were already there. There was some great music, and the boys had a great time, and Grandpa bought icecream everyday!

After the Bluegrass Festival Paul, Will, and Grandpa went backpacking to the beach (Point Reyes National Seashore). They had a great time, and Will loved every minute of it.

When the backpacking boys got back we went Camping to the beach/redwoods with Paul's cousins Ryan and Jon and their families. Once again it was lots of fun. For a more detailed post, I am sure you could check either the Willyerd's blog, or the Roger's blog. I am a little behind on blogging, so I am going for brevity.

When we got back from camping it was back to the Grandparent's house for the last few days of our vacation. We got to see Kristen Beaton and her 3 children, and the Wilcox family came up.

It was back to back fun, on our way home we stayed with my brother Steve in Delta, and he took us out on his boat. What a wonderful trip.

This really counts for like 10 posts, when you count all the things I am trying to cover.

Arches and the Hanks Family

My sister Heidi's family came down for spring break in the middle of April. We had a great time. We spent the first day at Arches, and the next day fishing/ canoeing. It would have been perfect if I hadn't bashed Sawyers mouth with a chair. They ended up leaving early to meet a Pediatric Dentist in Provo. I felt bad, but I guess all trips have a little drama. Don't they?

Easter

O.k., I know it is July and I am now posting Easter. I am a bit behind and I know it. So I will be brief and say, we had Easter at my parents house in Provo. My brother Steven and his family were there too. It was a lot of fun. The boys got goggles in their easter baskets and were anxious to try them out in Grandpa's hot tub.

Living Room Fort

So as much as I would like a clean house, I have little hope of ever having one. Every time I get the couch cushions put back on the couch I walk back in the room, and we have yet, another fort. If not a fort than it is some other creative use of a couch cushion that does not involve sitting on the couch where they belong.

Once again, although it is frustrating when you want your house CLEAN! it is still cute to see their little heads poking out.

Climber

I was just getting out of the shower when Paul comes into the bathroom (sounds sassy, but it wasn't) and asks if I know what my children are doing. Of course I assume that they were watching the Leap Frog movie I put in, since no one was banging on the door and screaming. No luck, Paul found them in the kitchen sink playing in the water.

Ahh! There was water everywhere, on the counter, on the floor. Although that was frustrating, I couldn't help laughing.

Jacob the youngest is my climber, he climbs onto everything, uses chairs, benches, stools, anything he can find to further his purposes. On this day, I think Nathan the three year old just thought, "You know that sure does look like more fun than watching this movie."

The Tricky Leprachaun

I realize that St. Patrick's day is long gone and it is almost Easter, but I am a little slow with this blogging thing.

I love St. Patrick's Day because of that tricky Leprachaun who comes and turns the waffles green (or whatever it is you are eating), and leaves green treats hidden somewhere for everyone. That tricky leprachaun comes up with some new prank every year.

What a great holiday.

Animal Photos

Wow, our first post and actually people read it. I got on to show Will our blog, because he hadn't seen it yet. I read the comments on the last post and was inspired to write a new post. We don't have a picture of Paul with a dead bear, but I thought I would send some other pictures that might come close to entertaining that request.

Washburn Family History

Hopefully blogging will help us keep people up to date on what is happening in our lives. We aren't the best at keeping in touch. So here is a brief history. Paul marries Emily. We have three boys, although not all at once. William is now 51/2 and in Kindergarten, Nathan is 3, and Jacob is 1. We have moved 7 times in 9 years of marriage. We have now settled (at least for a while we hope) in Monticello, Utah. We purchased a home last April and have enjoyed living here. In the end of November I got called as the Primary President in our ward. About a week later Paul had shoulder surgery, and is still recovering. It has been great when it comes to snow shoveling, because some blessed souls have shoveled our driveway for us every time it has snowed. The boys love playing with friends and we have other peoples kids at our house about three days a week. I could say more, but since I am trying to cover our entire history in one blog , I'll keep it brief. I hope to post again before another nine years go by. Enjoy a photo history of our family.
